One of the coolest things to happen to me lately was when I got word in early May that my proposal to paint a giant crow had been selected to for the Wildwood: Follow the Crows art trail in Portland... one of the many activations leading up to the premiere of Laika's new Wildwood movie.

I had about 2 weeks to train myself on how to paint with acrylics, then 4 weeks to paint my crow in a shared studio with the other 29 artists.

Meet Sir Timber Cawthorne. Since August 7th he has resided at the International Rose Test Garden in Portland, meeting hundreds of visitors each day. At the end of October he will start his journey back to the studio to get some touch ups before he get's auctioned off to raise money for OHSU's Doernbecher Children's Hospital.

Not only did this project give me new inspiration for my art, but it gave me a chance to meet so many people, both online and in person, bring some extra whimsy into the world, and it allowed me to tap into a fresh cauldron of art inspiration to play with and enjoy under my next unexpected project.
